When we speak of grief, most people think we are talking exclusively in the realm of the death of a loved one.  But that is not the extent of jurisdiction of grief.  Grief is an emotional and physical reaction to any traumatic or stressful loss: divorce of parents, loss of friendships, break ups, academic failures, injuries and illnesses, to name a few.

Today, I continue today a series called A Thrill of Hope.  We got this title from the lyric of the song,

"A thrill of hope,
The weary world rejoices,
For yonder breaks a new and glorious morn..."

And it has been my observation that the morning breaks brighter and more glorious when it has been preceded by deep darkness.  Now, I'm not making a theological statement, I'm making a personal statement.  You can appreciate the dawn of hope better having lived through the darkness.
