Related Posts A Man You Can Follow - Part 4 - Forgiveness - Part 2 June 17, 2018 - Senior Pastor Barry Clair continues the series "A Man You Can Follow" with part 2 of the message "Forgiveness"Joshua Rogers, a christian blogger, who in a recent post that was picked up by the Fox News Network yesterday, recounts a memory of telling his dad off for years and years of failure as a father. And he says in the article that "...the pressure of unforgiveness was building up inside of me until I finally blew up one nightI told him off, recounting every failure like I was a prosecutor in a closing arguement."Then he talks about his fathers response, which just blew him away. His father responded with a sincere apology. Then he writes about how it affected him. He writes, and I quote,"Dads genuine contrition took the fun out of holding offenses against him. In choosing weakness, his love became stonger than my hurt. All of us dads have damaged our kids in some way, and those father wounds run deep."Today, we're going to continue talking about following Jesus in the way of forgiveness.VideoAudioYour web browser is not able to read this audio file. I don't pretend to understand the precipitating pain that these people in the popular spotlight were suffering.Money, fame, and social status do not ensure a pain free existance.VideoAudioYour web browser is not able to read this audio file. Life Worthy of the Gospel October 7, 2018 - Pastor Barry Clair shares the message "Life Worthy of the Gospel" This last week and a half, I was able to spend some vacation time at my 3rd favorite place in the world - Gettysburg, Pennsylvania. I've spent time in Gettysburg for the last 20 years, 20 years in a row. I try to focus in that time on hearing God's voice and making plans on changes in my own life, to be a better disciple of Jesus, a better husband to my wife, a better father and grandfather, and a better Pastor to you all. Usually during that time, God gives me a message for the Sunday I return. This time, however, He didn't. Friday morning...I'm still a little concerned kind of in the back of my mind because Friday and Saturday [are] my study days and I was concerned because usually I'm well into prep by then. As I was reading the Friday, October 5th New Testament passage for the day, suddenly the Scripture text for my message today leapt off the page. I instantly knew what the Lord wanted me to talk about this morning. Video Audio Your web browser is not able to read this audio file. Please update your browser to its most recent version. When I Am Weak... Part 1 October 8, 2017 - Pastor Barry Clair - When I Am Weak... Part 1 Our Scripture text today is II Corinthians 12:1-10. Finish this sentance, "When I am weak...." If you said "...then He/God is strong", although you could make a proposition and find support in the text, it is not correct in the context of this Scripture. To be biblically correct in quoting that text, it is, "When I am weak, then I am strong." I want you to be careful about that, and that is going to be the whole focus of the message today, because it is easy to say, "When I am weak then God is strong." That's easy. And we should give God all the glory and the credit for everything. But this text, and what I want to talk about today and next Sunday, is what the Scripture says to us in a personal way. Paul said, "What I have discovered in my life is that when I am weak, then I am strong." Video Audio Your web browser is not able to read this audio file. It affects every father or mother who has ever encouraged or paid for a daughter’s abortion. It affects any man who has ever pressured a woman that he has impregnated to end the life in her womb. It affects every pastor and every church who has avoided or been silent on this difficult issue because of its complexity and explicitly. It affects every person who has ever voted for or affirmed a women’s sovereign right to choose her life over the unheard, and unrepresented life in a mother’s womb. But we want to express my concern and our love for those who are here this morning, or those watching or listening by video stream, who have experienced personally the pain of abortion. We are not here to judge you. We are here to extend to you God’s love, God’s grace, God’s forgiveness and God’s healing. Thank you for your courage to listen to this message. An Open Door October 21, 2018 - Pastor Barry Clair - An Open Door In this two week mini-series, we are ramping up to Global Impact Sunday, which happens next week. I have never prayed so hard for a Global or Missions event in my whole ministry. ...I think now is the most crucial time for us as Americans to be involved in what God's doing globally. I'll tell you why. For decades, I believe with all my heart that God raised up the United States of America and put His financial blessing on this country so that we could fund His global message of the Gospel around the world. I also believe at the point we drop the ball and we fumble it, that's when God is going to say, "Okay, if the United States of America is not going to continue to fund my missionary endeavors around the world, then why shouldn't I bring judgement on the Earth right now?" So, that's our responsibility. This is an important time; it's a pivotal time; it's a defining moment in the history of the Church in America.
