So, let me begin by asking you a question, "Have you ever been the victim of FAKE NEWS?" Think about it. I think most of us in this room have been. Has someone ever said or spread a lie or half-truth about you? Has someone taken something you said or did the wrong way and assigned or assumed a wrong thing about you? Have you been judged and condemned for something you didn't do or say? If so, you have been the victim of FAKE NEWS. Video Audio Your web browser is not able to read this audio file. Abraham Speaks from the Cloud- Old is the new New Series "Part 3" In our series, OLD is the new NEW, we’ve been looking at the fact that there is an essential connection between the O.T. and the N.T. Week One, we saw that the New Testament is completely compatible with and complimentary to the Old Testament, continuing the same story, of the same God, with the same attributes and purposes. Last week, we learned that the faith of Abraham, which Paul used in Romans 3 and 4, shows the consistency in the O.T. and N.T. for salvation by grace, through faith apart from the Law. In other words, everyone, everywhere, at every time, was saved in the same way. Today, we are going to continue to look at Abraham’s example of faith but not faith that results in Salvation, but how faith works in our life subsequent to salvation. Today I begin a new series called DRY BONES. While I was convalescing with my broken ankle, Dallas Elder spoke from this text. I was excited and spoke with him later that week because God had been moving in my heart to speak from the text Ezekiel 37 also. So, this must be an extremely important message from God because He's having it preached again. This text has two contexts; an historical context and a modern context. Let us first look at the historical context. Video Audio Your web browser is not able to read this audio file. Please update your browser to its most recent version. Family Drift- Drift Series "Part 4" How could we, a country that prides itself in its human rights record, be a society that now kills its unborn children by the thousands every day? We’ve drifted away from God’s righteous standard for families and do what is right in our own eyes! How could we now be a culture where the godless have hijacked marriage that God created, and it is now law that marriage is no longer one man and one woman for life? We’ve drifted away from God’s righteous standard for families and do what is right in our own eyes! How could we become a country so naïve to the truth, that we allow our children to self-identify with a gender that does not match how God created them genetically and biologically, and put our other children at risk by tearing down the gender boundaries that protect them so that they are not even safe in a public bathroom? We’ve drifted away from God’s righteous standard for families and do what is right in our own eyes! That’s right! We have drifted. Our culture has drifted, families have drifted. And the only thing that remains is for the church to model the Godly standard that God lays out in Scripture. We must walk worthy of the calling we have received. And in order to do that we must stop the decline with repentance and live out the Gospel in the power of the Holy Spirit. We need humble, repentant husbands and fathers who anchor their behavior, their conduct to the beliefs, the convictions taught in Scripture. In Ephesians 5:14-6:4, Paul give us four ways to do that. IF - The Spirit Lives In You Part 2 Last week, we began a short series on the subject of the The Small Groups are following the video curriculum supplied by Mark Batterson from His book, IF. Mark’s book follows closely, Romans Chapter 8. The great 8. John Piper has called Romans 8, “The greatest chapter in the Bible.” Let us read again the quote from Mark’s book that we read last week. “There are 1,784 ifs in the Bible. Most of those ifs function as conditional conjunctions on the front end of God’s promises. If we meet the condition, God delivers on the promise! So all that stands between your current circumstances and your wildest dreams is one little if.” Last week, we looked at one of those if/then conditional conjunctions. If the spirit lives in you, then what will happen? Today, we will look at another if/then conditional conjunctions from Romans 8:31-39. This text states unequivocally that if God is for you, then no one and nothing can take you out! Now that’s good news right? If God is for you, who can be against you? But the if/then principle leaves a big matzo ball out there, doesn’t it? How do you know that God is for you? How can you be sure? That’s what we're going to try to help you answer for yourself.
